Sickle Cell Disease Association of America, Inc. offers membership to community-based organizations (CBOS) to join us in our efforts to provide education, increase awareness, support individuals living with sickle cell disease and sickle trait and their families, and find a universal cure for this life-threatening disease.

SCDAA has 56 member organizations spanning 30 states that serve the sickle cell community with direct services, advocacy and awareness programs. We value the work of our CBOs, and we work collaboratively across the country affect positive change at the national, state and local levels.

SCDAA has categorized our community-based organizations into three categories based on the services provided:

  • Support Service Agency – These include but are not limited to: Medical bill assistance, transportation, career counseling/planning, medical co-pay, funeral/burial, assistance, housing, clothing, food, SSI/Disability, insurance application assistance.
  • Advocacy Service Agency – These services include but are not limited to: Disseminating SCD/SCT information, attending health fairs and participating and/or host local advocacy events.

We welcome CBOs to our network, as we are stronger together. If your organization is interested in being a SCDAA CBO member, please contact Kristen Cox, member engagement coordinator, at (410) 528-1555 x 113 or via email at kcox@sicklecelldisease.org.
