June 19 is World Sickle Cell Day

Every year, SCDAA is proud to join communities across the globe to recognize World Sickle Cell Day. The international awareness day aims to increase the public’s knowledge and understanding of sickle cell disease and the challenges experienced by patients and their families and caregivers.

Shine The Light on Sickle Cell

Shine the Light is a national awareness campaign to celebrate World Sickle Cell Day. We invite you to join with friends, family, neighbors and others in your community, as people around the nation and across the globe host and hold local gatherings to shine the light on sickle cell disease. Together, we must and will find a universal cure for sickle cell disease! Learn more.

Recognize World Sickle Cell Day with the SCDAA National Office

You’re invited! The SCDAA Sickletini Happy Hour is back again this year – and we’re excited to return to a virtual format. No matter where you are located, we hope you’ll join us to “shine the light on sickle cell” and recognize World Sickle Cell Day. Explore SCDAA’s mission and impact, learn how to make your very own Sickletini and/or Mocktini, groove to tunes and raise a glass in support of sickle cell warriors everywhere.
